Outside my professional work, I shoot just about all sorts of stuff with the iPhone. I find it to be a great way to keep training the eye and to document events.
I love my DSLR cameras but I don’t happen to carry them around with me at all occasions. The camera that I happen to carry with me at all times is the one on my phone.
Taking photos with the iPhone is one way to practise and sharpen composition techniques. Composition skills can be honed by just about using any camera. The humble 3MP camera on the iPhone with auto-focus is obviously limited compared to any one of my DSLRs but that is just about the beauty of it. Its limitations propel me to compensate by using creative composition techniques. In the process, stretching the limits of the iPhone camera to its boundaries.
